The 69 Eyes have been established in Helsinki 1989th , and their first album sleazy / glam rock album, "Bump N'Grind" was released in 1992. THE 69 EYES HAS RELEASED NEW SINGLE AND VIDEO!
Cult Finnish goth'n'roll band and the most
known "vampires" of the European rock scene, The 69 Eyes, that will
play in the Boogaloo Club in Zagreb on January
24th, 2010, as part of their "Back In Blood" tour named after the same titled album, has released the second single and video
from the mentioned album, the song "Dead N' Gone"!
The band also known as Helsinki Vampires, who announced "Back In Blood" by
riff'n'roll dedication to vamp girls - the song "Dead Girls Are Easy" named after
the same titled book by American author Terri Garey, chose the song
"Dead'N'Gone" as the second single from
the album. The song features Benji Madden, member of
the popular American band Good Charlotte. The video is, just like the one for "Dead
Girls Are Easy", directed by MTV superstar Bam Margera (Jackass), and of
course, beside him and The 69 Eyes, Benji Madden also appears in the video.
Watch the video!
We should mention again that the song "We Own The Night" from
the album "Back In Blood" found its place on the soundtrack of the movie
"Saw VI", that is now playing in Croatian movie theatres.
As it's been said in the beginning, after they played for
the first time ever in our region in Croatia in 2007 as headliners of
the first festival evening of Viva La Pola! Festival, promoting their album
"Angels", The 69 Eyes are coming back, this time in Zagreb, where they will present their new, in all important media worldwide
(e.g. Metal Hammer, Kerrang, Sonic Seducer and Bravo) already legendary
high-rated album - "Back In
Blood" on January 24th, 2010.
Tickets for the show in Boogaloo can be found in Zagreb at

We bring you an exclusive look at "Back In Blood" from the pre-listening party in Apollo club, Helsinki! Fangs,
Ivy!
THE 69 EYES
BACK IN BLOOD
Prelistening
Helsinki, Apollo, 14.08.2009
Primal doubts related to The 69 Eyes' affection to the ground
of Los Angeles and Grammy award winning producer Matt Hyde, who replaced J.L.
Michaels behind producing helm, was soon replaced, after the European tour with
splendors of Swedish dark scene Tiamat and bands departure to the studio in the
City of Angels, by curiosity and expectation. The reason was that news from the
studio trickled, but in the same time intensity was sufficient to burn
impatience into everyone devoted to the work of at the moment, beside the movie
vampires of Twilight saga, the most popular vampires in our part of the
universe. And when the recording process of the album named «Back In Blood»
reached its height with the first pre-listening party in New York, the old
continent was patiently waiting for its first looks into the world of sharpened
fangs of Helsinki Vampires and welcomed it first in Berlin and London and now
finally in the bands master cave – Helsinki.
Place and time of action: club Apollo
- with its ambient the place looks like it was made to taste the first drops of
aromatic blood wrapped into the snazzy package named "Back In Blood", 14th
August 2009.
The first snatch of “Back In Blood” saga in
the nucleus starts with the album title song, energetic rock story with its
atmosphere pretty much on the trace of the cult vampire movie “Lost Boys”, that
already inspired The 69 Eyes on the album “Devils”. “Back In Blood” is one of
those, as we usually say, tuned songs and there is no doubt that lyrics: “wake
me, take me, let me share this curse with you” will obtain expected effect in
the audiences on concerts because… “blood is a new black!”
„We Own The Night“ adds to the first song
«Back In Blood» not only with its atmospheric rock sound, but also because on
this album Matt Hyde has put Bazie's and Timo's guitar skills in the first place,
beside exceptional Jyrki's vocals, and also with vampiric lyrics that are from
first to last song the leading line of this album. «We Own The
Night», with catchy refrains where Jyrki plays a little bit with his
expressions, will be ranked high by everyone related to this band.
“Dead N’Gone” is the first of songs that
brings us back to the sound we love the most when it comes to this band, the one
we usually call the characteristic The 69 Eyes sound. Guitars, melancholy,
lyrics that will occupy your mind for days… everything is here.
„The Good, The Bad & The Undead“ is
anthemic ode to rock'n'roll. Wild, tuned, loaded with guitar riffs and with an
excellent rhythm section is one of those tracks that will, if it finds a place
on the setlist, cause a positive chaos between all those who have „sold their
(our) souls to rock'n'roll“.
„Kiss Me Undead“ with its sound and
arrangement balances somewhere between „We Own The Night“ and „Dead N'Gone“,
count Dracula and seductive bloody lips of ancient vampiresses. Yeah, „kiss me
undead, wake me from the darkness“… 100% The 69 Eyes!
„Lips Of Blood“ is another in a chain of
songs some expect to hear from The 69 Eyes – saturated with guitars, expressive
Jyrki's performance, catchy refrain and productionally faceted with a dose while
offering a terrific culmination…. With no trouble you'll feel its bite on your
neck and try to keep it there as long as possible.
„Dead Girls Are Easy“, sleazy representative
of the album and the song that has seen its video premiere on Playboy.com caused
a real fraction between fans, because after the cult „Blessed Be“ and
melancholic „Paris Kills“ albums which became a definition of Gothic Rock The 69
Eyes way, this song with its heavy arrangement in Mötley Crüe style and with
catchy refrain sounds a bit apocalyptic in its devotion to online girls with
looks to kill.
„Night Watch“ is a
total slew in comparison with the previous song and one of those that really are
on the trace of the aforementioned album „Paris Kills“ – wistful, gentle, dark,
seducive, with a refrain that engraves itself into memory….
„Some Kind Of Magick“ with its sound,
performance and lyrics, it definitely adds to the previous track. Another song
written in recognizable The 69 Eyes style and with arrangement wrap
complimenting mainstream rock sound.
„Hunger“ inspired by the same titled
incredible movie with the great David Bowie is one of the strongest on the album.
And again «Paris Kills» mind-flow. Unmistakable The 69 Eyes song in all its
elements, especially when it comes to Jyrki's voice and leading guitars.
„Suspiria Snow White“ brings us
back to the wild, but in the same time carefully dosed rock sound. Another song
in a chain that proves how far are The 69 Eyes ready to go for rock 'n' roll!
„Eternal“, 12th and the
song that closes «Back In Blood» album. While listening, the mind alternates
Elvis, Johnny Cash, Elvis, Johnny Cash.... Awesome acoustic step lounge for
remarkable looks into the sunset!
„Back In Blood“, and there is no discussion about it, is as
Jyrki69 himself said, album which The 69 Eyes waited for 20 years. Under
the direction of Matt Hyde brought to make producing highs, it is one of those
albums that will often be mentioned when it comes to this years' best creation
in dark/rock music. «Back In Blood» is in the same time a classic rock album,
but also an album that will crawl under the skin of everyone who understand the
essence of what is popularly called Gothic Rock. With full responsibility I
dare to say «Back In Blood» is in its plentitude and integrity the other cheek
of Gothic Rock, and The 69 Eyes with this album definitely open a new chapter
in their long and rich career and take the road that is meant to be only for
their journey of music success, where not even a sky is the limit anymore.
From Helsinki with blood on her fangs,
- Ivy

BLOOD IS THE NEW BLACK!
Sharpen
your fangs, The Helsinki Vampires are back. And this time, they’re
“Back In Blood”.
The 69
Eyes return with their ninth studio album, which has been hailed a
latter-day ‘Appetite For Destruction’. With blood on their hands and
AC/DC on their stereo, the bloodsuckers have combined their past to
focus on the future. Turning their back on the comic book glam of
‘Angels’, The Eyes have opened a heavier chapter in their musical
career. For the first time this decade, honorary sixth vampire
Johnny Lee Michaels has been granted temporary leave from the
batcave and Matt Hyde (Slayer/Monster Magnet) has been invited over
the threshold.
"He's cleaned the table and dusted the skeletons!", singer Jyrki 69
laughs. "It's like when Rick Rubin helped The Cult discover them on
'Electric' - we made a similar spiritual journey with Matt."
The first
single will be the tongue-in-cheek ‘Dead Girls Are Easy’ – a nasty
power anthem for sleazy pin-ups complete with a sing-a-long chorus
aimed at those online chicks with the looks that kill! The video has
been directed by MTV superstar and close friend Bam Margera and the
artwork has been designed by Estevan Oriol, whose work has
graced countless covers from Cypress Hill to The Transplants and
Snoop Dogg.

The 69 Eyes has started recording their new, ninth
studio album with none other than Matt Hyde - Grammy awarded
producer who's behind works from Slayer, Monster Magnet
and Fu Manchu. The still unnamed album will be recorded in
both Helsinki and Los Angeles, and is due September 2009, while the
video and single might come earlier this summer.
According to bravewords.com,
the idea of collaborating with Matt on the next record came rather
accidentally to the Eyes. "We used Slayer's God Hates Us All for
long to wake us up before the shows on tour back then, I guess
that's where the name Matt Hyde came into our mind. It'll be very
interesting to work with him. We have so good material at the
moment!", says Jussi69.
We're already sure it's going to give a whole new meaning to the
"summer of 69"! Get ready out there!

WHAT ARE THE PIRATES OF THE BALTIC SEA ALL ABOUT?
From the state of the Baltic Sea it is visible that it has been quite sufficiently polluted. By establishing Pirates Of The Baltic Sea, Jussi69 and Jyrki69 provide an opportunity to fight for the Baltic Sea regardless of age, gender or wealth.
GIVE MONEY OR SPREAD THE WORD
Everyone who enrolls in the pirates binds itself to fight for the Baltic Sea by freely copying an on purpose unregistered pirate mark or by collecting money and by spreading the message. You can see how it goes by visiting piratesofthebalticsea.fi.
COLLECTED MONEY
The collected amount will go to the wetland project of WWF. When you give, you help the pine swamps to serve as nature's own filters which reduces eutrophication (process where enhanced plant growth under the influence of excess nutrients results in reduced oxygen in water and can cause other organisms to die). Read more on the wetland project of WWF on country.fi.
MICHAEL MONROE JOINED THE PIRATES
MIKE MONROE was among the first ones connected to the pirates, and he composed and wrote the lyrics for Pirates Of The Baltic Sea single and music video that can be seen on the address: piratesofthebalticsea.fi.
TV SERIES
The idea of an establishment of pirates was created to bring Operation in connection with the work of the country TV series company, Nordisk Film. The Operation Earth is beginning from 11.11.2008 on Nelonen, which features a program in which three celebrity pairs struggle against the climate change. Read more about the series on country.fi.
Artists who, besides Jussi69 and Jyrki69, are a part of Pirates Of The Baltic Sea are: Adam Bomb, Backyard Babies' Dregen, Kory Clarke and Havana Black's Hannu Leiden and Petri Majuri.
More info about Pirates Of The Baltic Sea is coming soon! ;)

THE 69 EYES, HANOI ROCKS, WARRIOR SOUL, BACKYARD BABIES Members Team Up For 'Pirates' Single!
The Baltic Sea is the most polluted sea in the world. Worldwide climate change affects us all. "Operaatio Maa" (Operation Earth), a new series starting in November on Finnish TV channel 4, features three separate teams with different environmental causes. Rock stars Jyrki 69 and Jussi 69 from THE 69 EYES form one of the teams, that will man the barricades for saving the Baltic Sea: they have formed an anarchistic environmental movement called Pirates Of The Baltic Sea and invite everyone aboard the ship that sails under the green Jolly Roger.
HANOI ROCKS frontman Michael Monroe joined the Pirates and created a powerful, anthemic call to arms that aims to wake people up from their apathy and to take action: every single living soul CAN take part in saving the Baltic Sea. Michael Monroe has always been an actively aware person, even back in the day: in the '80s he participated in the Sun City project, which was Bruce Springsteen's and Little Steven's worldwide musical protest against apartheid. Besides singing the song along with a bunch of other international rock stars, Michael Monroe can be seen in the legendary Sun City music video.
With the song "Pirates Of The Baltic Sea", Michael Monroe appears at his most aggressive, and punky for quite some while. The international band of misfits that recorded the song with Michael is a true rock'n'roll crew of the highest order: Jussi 69 behind the drums, underground legend Adam Bomb on the guitar, WARRIOR SOUL's Kory Clarke singing backup, and BACKYARD BABIES' Dregen on the guitar as well. A music video for "Pirates Of The Baltic Sea" - directed by Tuukka Temonen - was shot a short while ago on the Baltic Sea aboard the marine research vessel Aranda.
The release party for the "Pirates Of The Baltic Sea" single and video will be held at the Tavastia Club in Helsinki on Friday, September 19 starting at 1:30 p.m.
Angels Rising is now
confirmed as the official European action!
Watch out as we continue to bring you gothic
goodies and some new content very soon!
